IRIDIUM 108, also known as Iridium Next SV108, is a communication and traffic monitoring satellite operated by IRIDS (Iridium LLC). Launched on January 14, 2017, from Vandenberg Air Force Bases SLC-4E pad using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle, it was manufactured by OATKGA. The satellite has dimensions of 3.1 meters in length, 1.5 meters in diameter, and a span of 9.4 meters. It weighs 860 kg at launch and has a dry mass of 700 kg. Equipped with L-band payload for communication, Ka-band cross-links, downlinks, ADS-B payload, and an AIS-receiver, the satellite is powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. Designed to operate for 10 years with plans for a 15-year lifetime, IRIDIUM 108 has a shape described as Half Hex Prism+2 pan and a radar cross-section of 2.4103 square meters.
