GSAT0201 (GALILEO 5), also known as GalileoSat-5, is a navigation satellite operated by GSAEU. It was launched on August 22, 2014, from the ELS launch pad at FRGUI using a Soyuz-ST-B launch vehicle. The satellite has dimensions of 2.7 meters in length and 1.6 meters in diameter with a span of 14.5 meters due to its solar arrays. It carries a Galileo Navigation payload along with MEO SAR equipment, is powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries, and has a dry mass of 700 kg. The satellite was manufactured by OHB and is expected to have a lifetime of approximately 12 years in space.
