The COSMOS 2492 [GLONASS-M], also known as Kosmos-2492, is a Russian navigation satellite that was launched on March 23, 2014, from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome using a Soyuz-2-1B launch vehicle. It operates with a 3-Axis stabilized Uragan-M bus and has dimensions of approximately 4 meters in length, 1.5 meters in diameter, and a span of 7.8 meters. The satellites dry mass is 1200 kilograms, while its launch mass was 1450 kilograms. It was manufactured by RESH for the VVKO/IACG and uses two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power generation. The mission purpose is navigation support within the GLONASS constellation system, with an expected lifetime of 7 years.
