COSMOS 2474 [GLONASS-M], also known as Kosmos-2474, is a navigation satellite launched on October 2, 2011, from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome LC43/4 launch site using a Soyuz-2-1B launch vehicle. The spacecraft, manufactured by RESH and owned by KVR/IACG, measures 4 meters in length with a diameter of 1.5 meters and has a span of 7.8 meters due to its solar arrays. It operates on a 3-Axis stabilized Uragan-M bus and weighs 1200 kg dry and 1450 kg at launch. The satellite is powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries, with a mission lifetime of 7 years. Its primary purpose is navigation as part of the GLONASS system, utilizing its Uragan-M No. 42L payload for this function.
