The COSMOS 2442 [GLONASS-M], also known as Kosmos-2442, is a Russian navigation satellite launched on September 25, 2008, from the Tyuratam Space Center (TYMSC) using Proton-M/DM-2 launch vehicle. The satellite features a 3-Axis stabilized Uragan-M bus and has dimensions of 4 meters in length with a diameter of 1.5 meters and spans 7.8 meters when its solar arrays are deployed. It weighs approximately 1,450 kilograms at launch, reducing to 1,200 kilograms after deployment, with power supplied by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. The satellites mission is navigation, and it was designed and manufactured by RESH for a seven-year operational lifetime. Its main payload is the Uragan-M No. 24L system, operated by KVR/IACG.
