ORBCOMM FM37, also known as Orbcomm Q1, is a communication satellite designed for M2M/IoT and traffic monitoring purposes launched on June 19, 2008, from KYMSC (LC107) using the Kosmos 11K65M launch vehicle. The spacecraft measures 1.4 meters in length with a diameter of 0.6 meters and a span of 1.5 meters. It has a dry mass of 115 kilograms, which is also its launch mass. The satellite features a Sterkh Bus configuration and carries an Orbcomm payload along with an AIS-receiver for additional data collection. Power is provided by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. The mission was conducted by ORBCOMM, manufactured by OHB/POLK, and operates under the ownership of ORBC. The expected operational lifetime of the satellite ranges from 8 to 10 years.
