GALAXY 18 (G-18), also known as Galaxy 18, is a communication satellite owned by INTELD and operated for communication purposes. It was launched on May 21, 2008, from the Sea Launch platform using a Zenit-3SL launch vehicle. The satellites configuration is based on SSL-1300 bus manufactured by LOR. Its dimensions are 5.6 meters in length and 2.8 meters in diameter, with a span of 31 meters due to its solar arrays. It has a dry mass of 2,000 kilograms and was launched with a total mass of 4,640 kilograms. The satellite is equipped with 24 C-band and 24 Ku-band transponders for communication purposes and is powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. Its expected lifetime is 15 years.
