GALAXY 16 (G-16), also known as Galaxy 16, is a communication satellite launched on June 18, 2006, from Sea Launch using a Zenit-3SL launch vehicle. The spacecraft has dimensions of 5.6 meters in length and 2.8 meters in diameter with a span of 31 meters due to its solar arrays. It was manufactured by LOR as an SSL-1300 model and equipped with 24 C-band and 24 Ku-band transponders for communication purposes. The satellite has a dry mass of 2,000 kilograms and a launch mass of 4,640 kilograms, powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. It was designed to operate for 15 years and is owned by PAN (PanAmSat Corporation).
