It has dimensions of 1.5 meters in length, 1.9 meters in diameter, and a span of 19.3 meters when its solar arrays are deployed. The satellites dry mass is 910 kg, with a launch mass of 1077 kg. It is part of the GPS constellation (GPS SVN 59) and serves navigation purposes. Its power source includes two deployable solar arrays and batteries. NAVSTAR 54 has a mission lifetime of 10 years and employs a Star 37XFP motor for propulsion.
