GLOBALSTAR M049 is a communication satellite launched by the United States on June 10, 1999, from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station using Delta 7420-10C launch vehicle. The spacecraft measures 1.5 meters in length and has a diameter of 0.6 meters with a span of 12 meters due to its solar arrays. It had a dry mass of 380 kilograms and a launch mass of 450 kilograms, manufactured by LOR for the mission of communication services. The satellite is powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries, equipped with an LS-400 AOCS motor for attitude control. Its purpose is to provide communication services as part of its mission, operating with a designed lifetime of approximately 7.5 years.
