ORBCOMM FM26, also known as Orbcomm C6, is a communication satellite designed for Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) purposes launched on September 23, 1998, from the Eastern Range Site using a Pegasus XL/HAPS launch vehicle. It was manufactured by OSCG and operates under ownership of ORBC. The MicroStar configured satellite has dimensions of 0.2 meters in length, 1 meter in diameter, and spans up to 4.3 meters when its solar arrays are deployed. With a dry mass and launch mass both at 42 kilograms, it is equipped with two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power generation. The satellites purpose aligns with its mission as an Orbcomm payload, aimed at facilitating M2M/IoT communications over a projected lifetime of four years.
