ORBCOMM FM25, also known as Orbcomm C5, is a MicroStar configuration satellite owned by ORBC and manufactured by OSCG. It was launched on September 23, 1998, from ERAS using the Pegasus XL/HAPS launch vehicle. The satellite measures 0.2 meters in length with a diameter of 1 meter and has a span of 4.3 meters due to its two deployable solar arrays. Its dry mass is 42 kilograms, matching its launch mass. Equipped for Communication M2M/IoT purposes, the Orbcomm payload on ORBCOMM FM25 uses batteries alongside the solar arrays for power generation. The satellites shape consists of a cylinder with two panels and an antenna, and it has an RCS of 0.67. Its mission was to last approximately four years following its launch date.
