ORBCOMM FM09, also known as Orbcomm A5, is a Microstar configuration satellite manufactured by OSCG for communication M2M/IoT purposes. Launched on December 23, 1997, from ERAS Launch Site using the Pegasus XL/HAPS launch vehicle, it has dimensions of 0.2 meters in length and 1 meter in diameter with a span of 4.3 meters. The satellites dry mass is 42 kilograms, identical to its launch mass. Equipped with an Orbcomm payload and powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries, ORBCOMM FM09 has a cylindrical shape with antennas and panels.
