COSMOS 2288 [GLONASS], also known as Kosmos-2289, is a navigation satellite launched on August 11, 1994, from the TYMSC launch site using a Proton-K/DM-2 vehicle. The spacecraft has dimensions of 4 meters in length and 1.5 meters in diameter with a span of 7.8 meters and a dry mass of 1200 kg. It was equipped with two deployable solar arrays for power generation, and its payload is the Uragan No. 75L. The satellite operates on a 3-Axis stabilized configuration and has been designed to serve as part of the GLONASS navigation constellation. Manufactured by POL, it had an expected lifetime of three years and was owned by VKS (Russian Ministry of Defence).
