COSMOS 2234 [GLONASS], also known as Kosmos-2234, is a Russian navigation satellite launched on February 17, 1993, from the Tyuratam Space Centre (TYMSC) using a Proton-K/DM-2 launch vehicle. It has a bus configuration of Uragan and is 3-axis stabilized. The satellite measures 4 meters in length with a diameter of 1.5 meters and a span of 7.8 meters, featuring two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power supply. Its dry mass is 1200 kg, with an initial launch mass of 1300 kg. Launched to serve as part of the GLONASS constellation, it has a navigation payload (Uragan No. 73L) and was operated by VKS. The satellites shape consists of a cylinder with antennas and two panels, with a radar cross-section (RCS) of 2.189 square meters. Its operational lifetime was estimated to be around three years.
