COSMOS 2109 [GLONASS], also known as Kosmos-2109, is a navigation satellite launched on December 8, 1990, from the Tsemel Space Center (TYMSC) in Kazakhstan using a Proton-K/DM-2 launch vehicle. The spacecraft has dimensions of approximately 4 meters in length and 1.5 meters in diameter with a span of 7.8 meters, featuring a cylindrical shape complemented by antennas and two panels. It was manufactured by POL under the Uragan bus configuration. With a dry mass of 1200 kilograms and a launch mass of 1300 kilograms, it is equipped with deployable solar arrays and batteries for power generation. The satellite operates in a 3-axis stabilized orientation and has an expected lifetime of three years. It was launched as part of the GLONASS constellation to support navigation services.
