The COSMOS 2079 [GLONASS] satellite, also known as Kosmos-2079, was launched on May 19, 1990, from the TYMSC launch site using a Proton-K/DM-2 launch vehicle from LC200/40. This navigation satellite has a configuration of 3-axis stabilization and is part of the Uragan series. It measures 4 meters in length with a diameter of 1.5 meters and spans 7.8 meters when its components are deployed.
