COSMOS 1946 [GLONASS], also known as Kosmos-1946, is a navigation satellite launched on May 21, 1988, from the Tysmoc LC200/39 launch pad using a Proton-K/DM-2 launch vehicle. The spacecraft has a cylindrical shape with antennas and two panels, measuring 4 meters in length and 1.5 meters in diameter, with a span of 7.8 meters. It had a launch mass of 1300 kg and a dry mass of 1200 kg. The satellite is equipped with two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power generation. Its mission was navigation, part of the Uragan constellation, and it was manufactured by OAZ. The satellite utilized a 3-axis stabilized configuration and operated for approximately three years in orbit.
