The COSMOS 1883 [GLONASS] satellite, also known as Kosmos-1883, is a Uragan model designed for navigation purposes and launched on September 16, 1987, from the TYSMC launch site using the Proton-K/DM-2 launch vehicle. Manufactured by OAZ in SU (Soviet Union), it has a configuration of a 3-Axis stabilized spacecraft with dimensions of 4 meters in length and 1.5 meters in diameter, featuring an additional span of 7.8 meters due to its deployable solar arrays and antennas. The satellite weighs approximately 1200 kilograms dry and had a launch mass of 1300 kilograms. Its purpose is navigation through the Uragan No. 33L payload, powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries, with an expected lifetime of three years.
