COSMOS 1780 [GLONASS], also known as Kosmos-1780, is a navigation satellite launched on September 16, 1986, from the TYMSC launch site using LC200/40 with the Proton-K/DM-2 launch vehicle. It belongs to the Uragan series and was manufactured by OAZ in SU (Soviet Union). The satellite has a length of 4 meters, a diameter of 1.5 meters, and a span of 7.8 meters when its solar arrays are deployed. Its dry mass is 1200 kg, with an initial launch mass of 1300 kg. It is equipped with 2 deployable solar arrays and batteries for power generation. The satellite uses a 3-axis stabilization system and was designed to operate for approximately 3 years.
