The COSMOS 1593 [GLONASS], also known as Kosmos-1593, is a navigation satellite launched on September 4, 1984, from the TYMSC launch site using LC200/40 and a Proton-K/DM-2 launch vehicle. It was manufactured by OAZ for GUKOS with a dry mass of 1200 kg and a total launch mass of 1300 kg. The satellite has dimensions of 4 meters in length, 1.5 meters in diameter, and spans 7.8 meters when its solar arrays are deployed. It is equipped with two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power generation. Its shape consists of a cylinder with antennas and two panels attached. Designed for navigation purposes, the satellite features a 3-axis stabilization system and was part of the Uragan series used in the GLONASS constellation. The satellite operated for approximately three years following its launch date.
