COSMOS 1554 [GLONASS], also known as Kosmos-1554, is a navigation satellite belonging to the Uragan series launched by the Soviet Union on May 19, 1984, from LC200/40 at TYMSC using a Proton-K/DM-2 launch vehicle. The spacecraft has dimensions of 4 meters in length and 1.5 meters in diameter with a span of 7.8 meters, and it has a dry mass of 1200 kilograms and a launch mass of 1300 kilograms. It features two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power supply and is equipped with 3-axis stabilization technology. The satellites mission was to provide navigation services as part of the GLONASS system, and it had an expected lifetime of three years. Manufactured by OAZ, the satellite was owned by GUKOS and operated under a cylindrical shape complemented with antennas and two panels.
