COSMOS 1491 [GLONASS], also known as Kosmos-1491, is a satellite manufactured by OAZ for GUKOS and launched on August 10, 1983, from the TYMSC launch site using the Proton-K/DM-2 vehicle. This Uragan-class satellite has a configuration of 3-Axis stabilized with a cylindrical shape complemented by antennas and two panels. It measures 4 meters in length, 1.5 meters in diameter, and spans 7.8 meters when fully deployed. The satellites dry mass is 1200 kg and its launch mass was 1300 kg. Equipped with two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power generation, it served a navigation mission with an expected lifetime of 3 years. Its equipment includes Uragan No. 13L payload, and it has a radar cross-section (RCS) value of 2.4918. The satellite was launched under the ownership of GUKOS to provide navigation services as part of its mission objectives.
