Ecliptic Enterprises and The Extraterrestrial Investment Company Announce Strategic Agreement
Colorado Springs, Colorado, April 14, 2026 - Ecliptic Enterprises, a pioneer in space avionics and imaging systems with more than 220 missions flown over 25 years, announced a strategic development agreement with The Extraterrestrial Investment Company ("Extraterrestrial") to codesign a new Space Computer Series. The collaboration will deliver a modular, radiation‑tolerant computing suite built on the SpaceVPX open standard, supporting civil, commercial, and defense missions from Low Earth Orbit to deep space.
The Deep Space Flight Computer (DSFC) Series includes five core product lines: a Single Board Computer (SBC), FPGA Processing Board, Storage Board, Network Switch Board, and Power Supply Board. Built on the SpaceVPX architecture-now the leading open standard for space computing-the suite enables scalable, interoperable system design, simplified upgrades, and broad cross‑vendor compatibility. Modular approach reduces integration risk, accelerates development timelines, and lowers mission cost.
"This agreement marks an important chapter for Ecliptic as we expand our avionics portfolio into advanced computing solutions," said Mike Alvarez, CEO of Ecliptic Enterprises. "By building on the SpaceVPX standard, we ensure customers benefit from an open, interoperable, and future‑ready computing architecture. We are developing the computing backbone for the next generation of space exploration."
Technical Overview
Each DSFC module is SpaceVPX compliant and engineered for harsh space environments, incorporating radiation tolerance, fault‑tolerant design, and industry‑standard interface compatibility:
